My Los Gigantes Blog 17th June 2012

A new idea has come to mind.

In order to keep all you folk back in the UK and the rest of Europe, up to date with anything happening out here, I am starting a monthly blog.

About tennis, the club and the area in general, I will be mailing you a link to my site where in the comfort of your home you can keep up with all the goings on out here.

So here we go for the first in a series of blogs from Los Gigantes.

Normally the quietest time of the year here, May and June has actually been pretty busy.

I have been training quite a few Russians, and players from Scandinavia, who seem to find this time of year good for coming here- so maybe a new market has opened up.And as long as we treat them well, hopefully they will be back.

The tennis league season has finished until October, and this year the club has not performed well.Only the ladies Over 35 team have achieved anything, and by finishing in the top 8 on the Island, assure themselves a place in the top league next year.

The mens Absoluto (all ages) have been relegated, as also the mens Over 35 team.

The courts are being smarted up with painting going on as I speak, and with that I can also tell you all that the Tipsy kitchen is being extended, giving the team more room to work in.

The swimming pool is also closed at the mo, due to cleaning.

The club tennis events continue, and even though Trevor, who runs both the Tuesday and Sunday events is away in the USA, he has managed to get Charlotte and Nick to take over the Tuesday slot, and Roger the Sunday event, so if you are coming out here soon, the events are still on.
