Once again the YCNBS (you cannot be serious) tennis tournament took place at the Los Gigantes Tennis Centre in Los Gigantes, Tenerife.

An amazing 30 odd folk turned up, meaning a few people had to be turned down to enter, as only 24 are allowed on the Sunday event.

But here is the report from the organiser Trevor Leigh:

"Sometimes the planets align, Aries enters Scorpio, we have a half-term holiday in the UK, etc.
And so it was for last Sunday's "You Can Not Be Serious" weekly all-comers tennis tournament. Whilst attendance has been gradually firming as the event becomes more widely known nearly 30 prospective players turned up and sadly, with a maximum capacity is 24 some had to be turned away.
With 12 players on court and 12 players "resting" on alternate rounds, the on-off nature of this particular week still saw the opportunity for everyone to play some 20 games, with partners changing after each four game round, and having time to get to know thier fellow players. Against the odds (spookily) it ended up with 12 men and 12 women playing in mixed and single sex doubles matches.

The standard of tennis was pretty good with even the weakest technically putting up a fair display that saw everyone make an impression on the scores. The women's section was particularily close and competitive with 8 of the players ending up with between 9 and 12 points.

Results
Womens Championship Winner - Karin Walker 15 points Runner's Up - Liz Andress 12 points and Linda Wills 12 points

Mens Tournament Winner - Bob Wilkinson 16 points Riunner Up - Jon Popescu 15 points.

With the Mid Week Doubles Challenge fully subscribed this gave rise to a new innovation the "Mid Week EXTRA Doubles Challenge" the latter being the same format as the Tuesday competition but likely to be run only in response to any similar busy periods. End of report"

Well done Trevor, and below are some of the photos that were taken on the day - and my prize goes to photo number 294 - I have no idea who he is, or any other photo either, but I like this one!! 294 is in the last group...
