AN IDEA ON THE SERVE
Most players practice their serves by taking a basket of balls and hitting one after another in the deuce court and then in the ad court.
A more productive way to practice serves is to add a second shot to your routine. When you play a match, your opponent will return most of your serves. Why not practice what to do next? Ideally, practice serves with a partner and hit an aggressive second shot after the return but don’t play out the point. If no one is available to hit with, serve a ball and then drop a second one and hit a ground stroke. This will help you back up your serve with more effective second shots.
