It never fails to amze me, how so many players find the volley a mystery.
With its short racket movement, if learnt correctly it should be the easiest of all the strokes in tennis. But it is made complicated by the player "doing" too much with the racket - it is for all sense and purpose a "short swing"..do not use the word "punch" it is NOT a punch.
A punch suggests a short movement that stops at contact- on the volley there is a follow through, be it short.
