Yes its that time of year out here when our tennis teams blow away the dust of a long hard winter and start once again the inter club tennis on the Island before it gets too hot to play.

Well in Spain the mens leagues start in the relatively cool time of the year and the other teams have to put up with playing in April and May when its quite a bit warmer.

There are three teams this year - the A team is based in the Los Gigantes tennis centre, and the other two, B and C are based at the Pancracio Sports Complex.

In the first team you have your old stalwarts of Jesus and Salvador Ferrer, Agustin Gorrin, John Beckley and a new comer this year, our very own Italian waiter Matteo.

First match for the A team sees them playing away on Sunday to Hibiscos in La Florida, and then they have home matches against Guimar and Liceo.

The B team are in 4th league Group B and have 6 matches to play against Puerto Colon-Miraverde B-Andrea B-Laguna Sport-Mar Radazul and Happy Days.Some new teams in the league this year Happy Days from Ten Bel and Puerto Colon from Las Americas.

The C team are in 4th league Group C and also have 6 matches against Casa Venezuela B-Jardin del Mar-Romantica-WikiTeam-Pabellon and Miramar B.Again some new teams with WikiTeam and Romantica.
