For those who do not recognise the lad,its Charlie Elliott who visits here a couple of times a year with mum and dad,Mel and Tim.

Chalie,last weekend was involved in the nation wide LTA - Road To Wimbledon - tennis event,which is a country wide competition, starting at club,then county and onto Regional, then an event that takes the winners to Wimbledon.

Charlie, in the U14 event,won through from his club, to play in the county finals in Hertfordshire,which I can tell you is a pretty strong county.

In the main draw he had the bad luck to draw Matthew Picton(County ranked No 10) in the first round, and lost 6/2 6/3.This put him into the plate competition, and in this event he actually won the final against Charles Trollope,ranked No 4 in the event and ranked No 12 in the county(Charlie before this event was ranked No 40).

So although not winning through to the main event,Charlie won himself 21 ranking points and a few small prizes.
