Two of our four lads who I am following on their long and tough journey to make it in the World of tennis are playing this week in the Futures event in Ilkley Yorkshire.

Tom Farquharson and George Morgan are both in the main draw of this 10,000 dollars event.Tom has to play Nicholas Grammare from France, who has a ranking of 1448, and George is up against Toby Martin from the Uk.

These Futures events are for players to win some points and so move up the ATP ranking. The No 1 seed is Daniel Evans from the UK and he has a ranking of 325.

Above the Futures are the Challenger series, where you get the guys who are in the top 200 in the World.

In a Futures 10,000 dollar event the winner will get 18 points and the runner up 10.Semi finalists get 6 points, quarter finalists 2 and last 16 get 1.

The 10,000 dollar events are the lower end of the tennis ladder, moving up to 15,000 dollars and then onto Challenger events.

So you can see how difficult this all is, and what the lads are after is POINTS!!!
